and during the general election period that would be an excellent exercise but right now the republican primaries are front and center of the news cycle to it makes sense only to do their candidates.

So the GOP/TP machine is so fractured and broken it's afraid a middle school aged child might just find more flaws, lies and malfeasance? Fear and loathing, followed by our NEW SHOW, Loathing and Fear.

Excellent assignment design. This teaches students to objectively research issues and how to THINK FOR THEMSELVES instead of being spoon fed information. This is one of my objections to modern fundamentalism is it spoon feeds doctrine and rejects independent thinking as a result. This is also why the wing-nut establishment has thrived is by using the same spoon feeding with rejection of common sense and discussion because it is in "opposition to God".

I wholeheartedly agree with the assignment, but he should have given a fifth group Obama to research, too. It would have saved this exact issue.

It's always valuable for kids to do critical thinking. It's a lost art.

Why do I think that they would have no problem if it was an incumbent Republican president and the kids were asked to research the Democratic candidates for weaknesses. This is nothing like East Germany idiots at the Daily Caller but if it makes you feel persecuted and tortured by the Stasi go for it. I think it's an unique assignment and would feel the same if it were the other way around too. For a movement that for years has accused liberals of being victims, modern conservatism is all about being the victim.
