One of the worst? Even McCain did better. McCains Waterloo was picking a hot, crazy chick for VP. But, at least she was a hot, crazy chick. Ryan is just crazy and it's all downhill from there.

The problem is Ryan's P90X cut workout body only appeals to gay men and they are voting Obama.

Thank god. I was worried for a while because despite Romney being a walking crap on a stick the polls had him at near 50% against Obama.

I can somewhat relax now and enjoy the show.

I also hope the GOP loses the Congress again.

Unfortunately that seems unlikely, though Akin is doing his best to help the Democrats retain a Senate majority.

I don't get how the GOP can be this crazy and hold onto congress. I just don't understand it. I know all politics is local but does that mean the local scene has lots of racist wingnuts?

Romney isn't even the GOP Platform. He is the stick figure who if elected will parrot the finer points of how the EPA and NPR are evil and women can't always get what they want and clean air and water is over rated. That, and the fact that he is smugly arrogant to the point of sleaze ain't helping either. He's not a candidate, he's a sock puppet and the GOP is a Cult. I see where the chirps are starting that Mitt wasn't/isn't/didn't get/go far enough to the right. Maybe they'll have purity tests and winners get armbands?

I caught this on political wire earlier:

New York Times: "Talk of infighting within the Romney headquarters in Boston has been percolating for months, but the report in Politico drew new attention to it and raised questions about Mr. Romney's management of the campaign, which includes advisers who have been with him since his first run for Massachusetts governor, since he entered presidential politics, and others like Stuart Stevens and his partner Russ Schriefer, who have become still more prominent this campaign season. Republicans close to the operation say it is not Mr. Romney's style to dismiss any of his advisers."

Who are these people? The people who ran his scintillating primary campaign in 2008.

I though Romney liked firing people who did poor jobs.

Oh, he meant fire poor people he has no contact with that will be fired face to face by middle managers....

I think the Democrat Party more closely resembles a cult with their guru and supreme leader Bhagwan Shree Obama.

Wow, you really are nuts, aren't you?

I think they are really just mocking the #7 referencing the GOP as a cult. Just as silly (or nuts) comment.

Really? Do I call you names? How about a good old heartfelt fuck off?

I was giving my opinion on what #10 was trying to say about your #7.

However if you really object to name calling, you might want to tell the guy who posted the #7.

Oh wait... right...

re: #14 Buck

I thought what he said stood all by itself on the legs of bigotry. My "opinion" is directed at a political party that I have voted for and now view as no better than a cult. His "opinion" was directed at the President. Your "opinion" was directed at me. Did I miss anything?

Indigenous Americans Ruled Democratically Long Before the U.S. DidDemocracy: it was older and more widespread than we thought. At the Oconee site, called Cold Springs, artifacts were excavated before the valley became an aquatic playground. Now, new older-than-expected radiocarbon dates for those museum-held finds push back the origin ...
