Nobody's right all the time and nobody's wrong all the time . There will never be a Palestinian State as long as Palestinians have as their goal , the destruction of Israel . The first step in Oslo to be taken by the Palestinians was to remove or revoke the language in the Palestinian National Charter calling for Israel's destruction and the removal of Jews from the land ....that step has never been taken . It was brought up for vote before the Palestinian National Council no less than three times and was rejected three times . Abbas himself , away from western cameras and media , states the same in arabic to his people . Hamas elected by the Palestinian people has similar language in The Hamas Charter and those words are mirrored in the Hezbollah Proclaimation .The Settlements although a point of disagreement with virtually all previous US Administrations are nit the issue , but merely a pretext used by the Palestinians to continue with their endless rocket attacks ,and finds sympathy among some in the west . If words have any meaning , the Palestinian position is that all cease-fires , treaties agreements truces etc . are merely there to provide another step to reaching the goals stated in their covenants- Israels eventual destruction .Until such language is removed and abided , until the unrelentng attacks on Israel stop , there will never be a Palestinian State . Both Parties should know this REALITY .

What 'Israel's right to exist' means to Palestinians

Since the Palestinian elections in 2006, Israel and much of the West have asserted that the principal obstacle to any progress toward Israeli-Palestinian peace is the refusal of Hamas to "recognize Israel," or to "recognize Israel's existence," or to "recognize Israel's right to exist."

These three verbal formulations have been used by Israel, the United States, and the European Union as a rationale for collective punishment of the Palestinian people. The phrases are also used by the media, politicians, and even diplomats interchangeably, as though they mean the same thing. They do not.

"Recognizing Israel" or any other state is a formal legal and diplomatic act by one state with respect to another state. It is inappropriate – indeed, nonsensical – to talk about a political party or movement extending diplomatic recognition to a state. To talk of Hamas "recognizing Israel" is simply to use sloppy, confusing, and deceptive shorthand for the real demand being made of the Palestinians.

"Recognizing Israel's existence" appears on first impression to involve a relatively straightforward acknowledgment of a fact of life. Yet there are serious practical problems with this language. What Israel, within what borders, is involved? Is it the 55 percent of historical Palestine recommended for a Jewish state by the UN General Assembly in 1947? The 78 percent of historical Palestine occupied by the Zionist movement in 1948 and now viewed by most of the world as "Israel" or "Israel proper"? The 100 percent of historical Palestine occupied by Israel since June 1967 and shown as "Israel" (without any "Green Line") on maps in Israeli schoolbooks? ---Continued

Romeny is just stating Israeli policy. There can never be an independent Palestinian state where in Israel controls all air space and boarders, and Israel will never allow a Palestinian nation where it does not control the boarders and airspace.

Maybe I need to wake up more but I didn't see anything controversial in his comments here.

I didn't put in what I thought was the most controversial part: if you punch out to the article you see him talking about Iran and dirty bombs, which makes him out to be a total dunce. Anyone can make a dirty bomb, and you don't need an enrichment program to do so.

Yeah. I should watch the entire video before saying more.

The issue here isn't so much whether optimism over a two-state solution is warranted. I don't know what Obama would say about the prospects if you got him good and drunk. It's knowing what the hell you're supposed to say when you're running for President of the United States.

Mitt scores poorly on that, all around.

In other words, you agree with Romney, you just place blame elsewhere?
