Well I'm certainly neither prominent nor Jewish. Sometimes I'm a critic. Heh, if the search engine has a code for downdings you can probably find my criticisms there. But I voted for him as the better of the two men. I decided long ago (Clinton admin) I was done with hyperventilating and fainting over Presidents and the candidates.

To those who do lose sleep when their guy loses, remember this, the harshest critics of the winner are always wrong. No President has destroyed the country.

Yeah that little economic disaster that Bush presided over... That was nothing... Just 16.4 trillion in wealth lost, the most robust middle class in history of man devastated, millions financially ruined, millions lost their homes... But don't be too harsh, it's not like the country 'as a concept' was hurt... but let's not engage in polemics. //

Does a president have to physically dismantle the country for you to acknowledge destruction?

Bush's harshest critics took all that real tragedy in and added stuff they just made up. Like they did to Clinton. And now Obama. And if you think Presidents are in charge of the business cycle, that Bush alone made that recession happen you are being myopic.

I should list the worst thing said about each of the past half dozen Presidents. None of them were correct.

Are you a truther Tom? (Just kidding I doubt that very much) Because that is one of the false things said by Bush critics. So maybe you can see what I mean. If "our guy" loses we need not freak out. This time I think this will be advice to Romney fans.

To damage is not to destroy. You can point fingers at every president who's gotten us into a bad war, or 'presided over' the tanking of the economy, sure, but destruction is bigger than that. Bigger than what's happening today. Hoover did not destroy America, and neither did Bush, and neither would Romney if he were going win.

This is not a destroyed country. The Union stands as she stood, rock-bottom and copper-sheathed, albeit broke, unemployed, cranky, and freaked out.

That said, this article doesn't seem to pose such a mystery to me. None of these men are deeply opposed to Obama on broad political grounds. They hocked him about his Israel policies, but most of them are a. not going to vote for Romney, and b. see Obama's approach on Israel as being similar enough to their own at the root.

Dershowitz especially is often characterized as some sort of wild-eyed hard-liner on Israel, but he ain't.

It's a reflection of how screwed up modern politics are that anyone would expect these folks to not support Obama merely because they didn't enthusiastically agree with every damn thing he's done since getting into office.
