Mountain Pass In Fall
Today-Angeles National Forest, San Bernardino county. It was 40 degrees, at about 8000 feet. The clouds that were slowly drifting through had that rare cottony texture that almost never happens at low altitudes. In a few weeks there will be feet of snow and lots of skiers / snowboarders. I got a little lucky given the prevailing clouds but only about 20 minutes of decent light. You can see in the top shot how thick it was after it closed back in. The digital camera was set to monochrome, and tweaked for high contrast with a red filter as applied by the in camera processor.
Added as I finally got it to where I wanted it. Cropped and toned like a selenium print. If your monitor is well calibrated you will se a slight blue/gray tint.
