On its website, Golden Dawn said that more than 20 children took part in a tutorial at the party’s offices in Artemida, eastern Attica, on Feb. 23, and were shown educational videos, taught the virtues of the ancient Greek gods and the Christian faith and Greek Orthodox Church.

20 kids? Sounds like the kids of the individual party members were used as props.

I wouldn’t doubt that .The familiarity I was speaking of was the same type of indoctrination coupled with references to ancient mystical gods , that the nazis engaged in . I dont know if that’s exactly where Golden dawn is headed , but this particular item , rings familiar .

I did some reading on this group. It looks like in an attempt to go mainstream they are embracing Greek Christian values, etc. In the past this party denigrated Christianity and blamed the loss of their pagan religion for the fall of their past great empire. There is a flim flam element to right wing groups the world over in regards to what they really think and what they pretend to stand for.

Being a movement that emphasized on the early nazi doctrines, GD was anti-Christian or at best recognized no connection between the Greek “race” and the abrahamic religion of Christianity.

Perhaps this is what is familiar. I remember it.

The 1974 Cypriot coup d’état was a military coup d’état by the Greek Cypriot EOKA-B paramilitary organization, backed by the Cypriot National Guard and the Greek military junta of 1967–1974. On 15 July 1974 the coup plotters ousted President Makarios III (who fled to the United Kingdom)[1] and replaced him with pro-Enosis (union with Greece) nationalist Nikos Sampson as dictator.

Apples and Oranges.

This new Greek party too stuff Greeks never had access to - basically Nazi Thule ideology- that the neo nazi right was exporting out of Germany in the 80s and brought it to Greece with a Greek spin.

That is not the same kind of right wing thing thinking that animated the Greek - Cyprus era juntas.
