They tend to forget their growing hostility towards other belief systems, but will cry to the heavens when it’s anti-their-version-of-Christianity.

Being of the pro-choice persuasion, I’m well aware that some Catholics are extremist. Which is what I bet was said in the Army briefing. The right wing has a real tendency to convert a report of the actions of some of a group to an attack against all of a group. It’s a logical error.

What these idiots don’t seem to understand is that if the DoD is providing these computers for work related use, then they can block any site that they deem to be a potential distraction to that work. Somehow I don’t think that the SBC has any problem with the DoD blocking access to porn sites and some Social Media sites like Faceboook or Twitter on these computers.

That said, they better have a good reason for blocking SBC ministers from the site, as being able to access their Denominations main web site for current information and news is part of their job.

Hell, the company I work for blocks a shit load of web sites using web-sense for the same reason. I have had to have them unblock both E-bay and Amazon because we occasionally use them to purchase parts that we can A. no longer get from a vendor or B. we can get them cheaper online.

“This is another example of the growing hostility toward evangelical Christians in the armed forces,” Lt. Gen. (Ret.) Jerry Boykin, executive vice president of the Family Research Council told Fox News.

This would be the same Boykin who instructed the troops under his command, and repeated in multiple public speeches and media interviews, that our wars were justified and necessary “because our God is bigger than their God.”

Boykin is who Al Qaeda points to when telling would-be recruits that the United States is trying to destroy Islam. He was forced to retire when the CIA said his religious activities (including actively prostelytizing troops under his command, and encouraging them to prostelytize amongst the locals near overseas bases) were causing more problems than his military skills were solving.

If our taxpayers dollars are paying for those computers, servers, and internet connection, then everything that is not related to the mission should be blocked. End of story.
