Good to see the GOP so steadfastly finding solutions to problems that do not exist.

Just what good is extra time off if you don’t have any money to spend on that time off.

Where I work we are given the option and most of us bank our time. This allows us to actually spend time with our families. I believe our company caps the amount of Time in Lieu at 40 hours, after that you have to spend time or get paid out.

I see nothing wrong with this idea.

Great idea on paper, when cameras are taking pictures of slimy politicians next to a token working class family. These comp time hours are subject to “approval” meaning if your boss is an asshole or your company deliberately understaffs, no comp time for you.

Where I work, overtime pay >40 regular hours has to be approved by management but comp time can be agreed just with the supervisor.

I ask myself, when was the last time the GOP was ever for any type of relief or benefit for an american worker? Oh yeah. Never. This is highly suspicious. But hey Eric Cantor is now the working mans friend so bombs away!!

Comp time is hour for hour and overtime can be time and a half or more.

I see plenty wrong with it. Salaried employees already have this at good. companies. Hourly people tend to earn a lot less, and need the OT pay.

“Hey Bob, we need you to work until 1am today and tomorrow. But you can take next Wednesday afternoon off! Oh, and if you don’t do it, you’re fired.”

Isn’t this just more regulation on business? How can these hypocrites be for more regulation for business? Comp time is good for american families? Guess what else is good for american families? Health care. Health care mandates bad though right Cantor?

Ooops!

Wrong thread.

Which was the exact opposite of where I worked prior to this, I worked more than 40 hours a week and only got time off. Now I am hourly and have a choice of cash or time in lieu.

It clearly states they have the option:

give employees who work more than 40 hours a week the option of taking paid time off instead of overtime pay.

I still fail to see the issue

No thanks, I will take the money instead. You get the option, not your employer.
