The Pauls will align themselves with any hate group with money. The new libertarianism…Rights for me, but not thee.

I had read about Rand Paul’s meetings with high level evangelicals on other blogs, and now I’m reading about his connections to them at LGF. I think Rand Paul is thinking that if he does run in 2016, he can harness the evangelical vote, and along with libertarians, and some others, he can win the presidency. I think he’s making a mistake because not all evangelicals will vote for him, and there are more American voters than there are evangelicals and libertarian combined. Instead of trying to appeal to a wider range of voters, it seems he’s trying to put all of his eggs in one small evangelical-based basket. Plus, when some of the evangelical leaders like Fischer start talking, I believe it will turn off large numbers of Americans. I’m fairly certain he won’t do a thing to dissuade Fischer from peddling his anti-gay rhetoric from an even larger platform, which will definitely be tied to the Rand Paul Campaign. Neither Rand Paul, Lane, Gallagher, or any of the other anti-gay proponents seem to realize that more Americans approve of gay marriage today than did in 2008, and the predictions they made about DADT and the military didn’t happen . I predict that their built in inability to face facts will hurt Rand Paul at the polls in November 2016.
