Judge Keeps Part of Alabama Abortion Clinic Law on Hold Until March
Alabama — A federal judge has postponed enforcement of a key part of Alabama’s new restrictions on abortion clinics until March 24, 2014.
U.S. District Judge Myron Thompson extended a temporary restraining order in the case after attorneys on both sides of the lawsuit agreed to an extension through that date.
Planned Parenthood Southeast and a Montgomery abortion clinic filed a lawsuit seeking to overturn a part of a new law that will require abortion doctors to have admitting privileges at a local hospital.
