It is not at all uncommon for libertarians to compare taxation to theft or involuntary servitude. We are reaching the end game of this insane philosophy. The Ryan Budget is so extreme that the GOP House can’t pass the austere appropriation bills that it would require, and every day more of the GOP base dies off, only to be replaced by 18 year olds who are more diverse and progressive than any previous generation of Americans.

It’s so nice that the GOP is still using the rhetoric of John C. Calhoun:

[T]he next step would be to raise the negroes to a social and political equality with the whites; and that being effected, we would soon find the present condition of the two races reversed. They and their northern allies would be the masters, and we the slaves

He’s an idiot. How is helping poor people through food stamps or healthcare “just like slavery”? What does he think slavery was about? It wasn’t about feeding, clothing or taking care of Blacks. It was exploitation and oppression.

What assistance does Paul think a government owes to its most vulnerable poor citizens? I’m sure he’s okay with the government helping rich people by giving them tax cuts, but what about the poor?

It’s a RWNJ meme that “taxes” are the exact same thing as “slavery”

The man is truly insane. Or evil. Or both.

I’m voting for both.

We know what you meant, but I read it quick as you are voting for him, and got shivers.

I guess we have no obligations to anyone except ourselves. Is this really a world people want to live in, or have they just not thought it through?

Is there a religious or cultural tradition that endorses this view? I suspect not.

Of course, ‘forcing’ us to pay for the slaughter of Arabs and Persians in the middle east, doesn’t mean that republicans are the party of slavery.
Because they’re all savages who ought to be wiped out anyway.
No racism though. It’s all about giving the people their ‘freedom’(fries), protecting Israel from the Savages, and of course, ensuring WMDs don’t end up in the hands of theocrats. Republicans and hard right Israelis are all about WMDs not being in the hands of theocrats. Republicans and hard right Israelis are all about WMDs not being in the hands of theocrats. …Actually there are also some Dems who’re just as nuts and hypocritical in that regard.

It’s the Randian(I got mine, fuck you sucka) world, combined with twisting tiny bits of the bible and the Koran into that which suits them. They’ve managed to figure out a way that Rand’s views regarding society fit hand in glove wit being a Good Christian.
I love that they still use the Islamic phrase ‘god only helps those who help themselves’, while demonizing all Muslims as enemies of ‘freedom’.
And that these people proudly call themselves Christian, whilst essentially saying that the majority of Jesus’ claimed/apparent values are now officially evil and communist.

Cthulhu is less evil.
