Report: North Korea Executes Leader’s Ex
The ex-girlfriend of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has reportedly been executed by firing squad.
The South Korean newspaper, Chosun Ilbo, reported Thursday that Hyon Song-wol, a former singer, was arrested on Aug. 17 along with other members of Unhasu Orchestra, and also musicians and dancers of the Wangjaesan Light Music Band.
The newspaper reported that Hyon and other performers were put to death on Aug. 20 over pornography charges, and were accused of making and selling a sex tape of themselves. They also allegedly had Bibles in their possession, and were treated as political dissidents.
“They were executed with machine guns while the key members of the Unhasu Orchestra, Wangjaesan Light Band and Moranbong Band as well as the families of the victims looked on,” said a Chinese source reported in the newspaper.
