The military exists to kill people and to break things

Where would all of these nutcases be if Rush Limbaugh hadn’t blazed the trail for them?

As someone who’s served in the military, this “war on Christianity” is so full of garbage it isn’t even funny. What we’re seeing is non-Christians fighting back against the attempts to convert everyone to one particular brand of Christianity or another. No Jews, Hindus, atheists, etc., allowed.

The worst of it was at the Air Force Academy. A former Jewish chaplain friend of mine was called in to investigate the situation and found that the upper echelons of USAFA were condoning and contributing to the anti-everyone-not-Christian environment there. It appears it didn’t help much after his report came out, as the problem still exists there, and this “person’s” complaint ab out anti-Christian backlash is nothing but ‘wah wah wah.” He can’t stand the fact that non-Christians are saying, “ENOUGH!” and fighting back, so to speak.

These fantastically paranoid persecution conspiracists just can’t kick the habit. Their interpretation of the bible tells them that eventually during the “End Times” they will face levels of persecution unequaled even by the Nazi holocaust against the Jews.

Therefore they are always looking for the start of the horrific persecution that they believe will finally validate their belief, lives, and often twisted world views.

To them the military forces are just a future arm of the anti-Christ led killing machine that will without any doubt eventually fulfill their “End Times” prophecies. They actually believe that the military will attempt to exterminate Christianity through forced conversion (taking the “mark of the beast”), torture, public beheadings, mass executions, and burning people alive.

They are told that all of this will happen not only by many denominations interpretation of the bible but by their pastors in sermons, by their teachers in bible study, and often even their own family members (thanks mom).

Reason, rationality, and empirical evidence really has nothing to do with it, this is a matter of faith. It will happen, their biblical prophesy says that it will, the only question in their minds is when. :(

Dark_Falcon,

How much do you want to bet that Byran Fischer couldn’t site a reliable source for his claim that the military is being told to target the “American Family Association?”

I sincerely doubt that they think a bunch of people like him who do nothing but constantly whine about things like the “evil” of gay sex are a threat to national security.

Actually that claim was “kinda” true, depending on how you look at it.

A small number of troops (reservists apparently) were told in classroom training about “Domestic Hate Groups” that the AFA was now considered one because of their vocal and bigoted opposition to gay equality. The problem being that the classification of the AFA as a Hate Group only comes from the SPLC so far, not from any governmental agency.

After this was reported to the media the training program was immediately changed to remove the AFA from the curriculum. Link to the first “outrageous outrage” below, if you want to read more about it including the army apologizing and changing the curriculum you’ll have to find those on your own.

foxnews.com

(If I remember correctly this was basically just one instructor at one training center who had included this in his course on his own. Not positive on that, frankly, I was just not paying that much attention to the story.)

I’m getting flashbacks to a Chinese official who allegedly referred to the PAP (civilian police) as “the government violence machine.”

Exactly. That one isolated session was the only thing that has happened. But Bryan Fischer relies on his audience not understanding about how such briefing sessions work when he spews his hysteria. It’s a cult leader’s tactic, creating an atmosphere of fear and paranoia. Having thought about it today, I realize this Fischer vid reminds me far too much of speeches that Jim Jones gave.
