I am old enough to remember when a Sec Def's explosive memoir would outrank a New Jersey road closure on the Meet the Press.

So throwing people in jail for smoking marijuana is going to still be a thing for Republicans? I can’t wait to hear the next nominee brag in front of the Republican Convention that he will jail all those damn hippies, right after he promises to reinstate Don’t Ask Don’t Tell and cleanse the military of teh gays.
And the GOP wonders why they can’t get young people to vote for them…

re: #2 Ryan King
What’s interesting is that he presents it in the context of what’s important on Meet the Press, as if that’s some kind of indurate institution harking back to the misty light of the days of yore, instead of just another bunch of old farts sitting around acting as if their opinion matters (I’d like a show of hands, nation-wide, as to whose opinion is actually formed by a viewing of Meet the Press these days).
The bizarre way conservatives mangle reality always cracks me up. It’s not about what is actually true, or relevant. They’re always moving yardsticks around to re-interpret whatever’s going on. I’m reminded of trying to play yu-gi-oh with my ten-year-old son. Boy, did that game have a lot of mystery rules!

PS also could not help notice that the frame chosen by the video preview contains the faces of Barack Not-Chris-Christie Obama and Hillary Not-Chris-Christie Clinton.
I didn’t even need to read further, thanks. I think I get the conservative narrative about Chris Christie … .
