You know if churches focused the effort on combating poverty and injustice instead of being obsessed with the consensual sex habits of adults………

Nobody would show up for services.

And the presentation they always give is some handsome, erudite young man that’s a gift to society, when in fact he’s committing indecent acts with consequences.

As so often happens, I’m wasting a lot of time trying to figure out what this sentence means. I think he was so eager to get to the “disgusting” part, he never managed a coherent lead in.

He would probably be shocked to find out that not all Teh Gays have anal sex and that Christian conservatives do have anal sex.

I might actually be interested in attending a church that discusses human sexuality in a frank and realistic manner, but I suspect what he really wants is to be able to stand up there and yell FAGS LIKE TO DO EACH OTHER IN THE BUTT! at people.

re: #4 Dr. Matt
Exactly. His laser-like focus on anal sex says far more about him than it does gay men.

Yeah fire and brimstone sells. Not to mention acting as if you are without sin while damning others.

No, no. Not without sin. We are all sinners! (Especially you people over there.)
Then they can go on to enumerate some sin in their (distant) past that is so minor as to insult the basic concept of sin.

I’d like to hear Scarborough explain why he’s so interested in what gay persons do with each other sexually. It doesn’t seem healthy for a grown man/woman to have such an intense fixation on the sexual activities of other adults. Something tells me that he’d avoid answering my question for fear that he’d accidentally reveal that his fixation isn’t biblical at all but personal.

I’m sorry is he claiming that it’s a huge conspiracy to hide the fact that gay people engage in anal sex? Like no one knew this and he is breaking a huge story by yelling about it at church?

My experience was “we’re all saved, but those people are all going to hell”. I remember one man telling me he didn’t worry when he was about to have heart surgery, because he’d be a winner no matter what happened. I meant to ask him “why have the surgery then?”, but I was too polite to do that.

I find this strange because as a kid I don’t remember church members telling God what hat He was going to do. Of course, that was a different century.
