A black member of the south African Parliament argues that calling Israeli an apartheid state, is baseless and he should know since he lived under apartheid himself.

Kenneth Meshoe is a hardcore religious right figure about where Mike Huckabee is on the US spectrum. I’m going to continue to go with Bishop Tutu on this one.

You should visit and see for yourself. You should visit both sides, West Bank and Israel proper. If you do not, then good luck with that opinion.

Oh well - one BLACK guy, who just happens to side with South Africa’s minority(he is worse - by a long shot - than Allen West), claims there’s no segregation. Case dismissed, of course!
How embarrassing. It rather shows the ‘who, us?’ brigade’s insecurity if they need to highlight the comments of this nutter.

Oh well - one BLACK guy, who just happens to side with South Africa’s extremist, racist minority(he is worse - by a long shot - than Allen West), claims there’s no segregation. Case dismissed, of course!

Okay, that’s rather disturbing. I think that I might not have posted this here if I had known that Kenneth Meshoe was like that. However, it deosn’t debunk his story, which if true, goes completely against the idea that Israel is an apartheid state. Under Apartheid whites and blacks would never be put in the same hospital room. You also would never have a situation where blacks had political power over whites. Unless what he’s saying in the video is an outright lie, it doesn’t sound like you can compare the situation between Israelis and Palestinians is anything resembling apartheid.

Just so. Even if Meshoe is an ass in many ways, he had a direct, personal experience of apartheid which leaves him well placed to compare and contrast the actions of Israel with those of Apartheid South Africa.
