Released Early by Judge, Man Charged in 2nd Assault
NASHVILLE, Tenn. — A woman who reported an attack by her boyfriend Sunday morning thought she would have 12 hours to gather her belongings and get to a safe place before he was released from jail.
Instead, she again came face to face with Nashville contractor David A. Chase that morning and suffered a second beating, according to police and court records.
Now, a longtime Davidson County general sessions judge who intervened in the case says he regrets his role in helping free Chase after the first arrest.

This story has a connection to me, the woman who was assaulted (twice) by this asshole used to be our receptionist, so I know her. The boyfriend is VP of a big construction / development firm, building the new ball park in Nashville, and just got the contract for a luxury boutique hotel downtown.
Tennessee law stipulates a mandatory 12 hour cooling off hold for anybody arrested on domestic violence. He was arrested, released, beat her again, got arrested again, got released. By this time she had gotten away. She is safe now, some people I know are taking care of her, and she is thinking about moving away from this area.
Damn….. just DAMN!
