Rasmieh Odeh told a Detroit jury on Thursday that she believed the citizenship application wanted information only about convictions in the U.S.
Odeh is associate director at the Arab American Action Network in Chicago. She’s charged with getting U.S. citizenship illegally in 2004 by answering “no” to questions about criminal history.
Odeh spent 10 years in an Israeli prison for bombings, including one that killed two people in Jerusalem in 1969.
