The fact that the cops changed their stories after they found out there was a video of the event speaks volumes.

Well, a person brandishing a fake gun could have been believed to be a lethal threat, but Rice was not brandishing his. If he had been, the cops could have stopped far way and told him over their loud speakers to drop the gun and put his hands up. After all, there were no other citizens nearby forcing the cops to swoop in the way they did.

They swooped in and shot him without taking any time to assess the situation. And don’t forget, the cop who shot him was officially described by a superior officer on a different force as being unsuited to the job and that no amount of training would change that.

Yet they didn’t even bother trying to resolve the situation. Really fuck the police unions for immediately blaming the victims in these cases.

Must not have seen the video I saw. I saw a shooting. Of a 12 year old kid. Alone. I could have been shot at least 60 times as a kid, We played “War” and ran around with toy guns. Some looked real.
Jerkoffs. No excuse. WTF trains these idiots anyway?

Really this. They made no attempt to talk to the kid. Nothing. It’s so fucking tiring. And then of course these arrogant pricks get mad when people have the nerve to want justice. Tamir Rice was only 12 years old. 12. 7th grader. Whole life ahead of him. In a just world, his killer would be sentenced to life in prison but because we live in a world of bigoted assholes who think blacks can do no right and cops can do no wrong, his killer will not see a day of prison. And then there will(there already has) been other cases like his and the nation will “wonder” why it happens and collectively shrug its shoulders and others will blame black people for getting fed up with this crap.
