Well, at least this one is honest about her beliefs.

If a religious cult sets itself up in opposition to basic values like properly caring for children, then too bad for the cult.

It’s a free country. If an adult wants to choose faith healing for himself or herself, that’s just fine. But there is no justification at all for inflicting this on children too young to have chosen this for themselves.

So it’s the parents choice to withhold treatment for a child that might save their life but its the government’s right to withhold medical procedures the parents might choose to terminate an unwanted pregnancy.

The hypocrisy is absolutely stunning.

In that world people are property. Parental Rights. State Rights. Religious Rights. YOUR rights? Not important. Even to their own.

“I’m not trying to sound callous, but [people calling for reform] want to act as if death is an anomaly. But it’s not. It’s a way of life,” she says.

Not for children, not in the 21st century, you hideous woman.

It really does make it very obvious that RWNJs engage in doublethink right out of 1984.

Take it away, Mr. Orwell:

The power of holding two contradictory beliefs in one’s mind simultaneously, and accepting both of them… To tell deliberate lies while genuinely believing in them, to forget any fact that has become inconvenient, and then, when it becomes necessary again, to draw it back from oblivion for just as long as it is needed, to deny the existence of objective reality and all the while to take account of the reality which one denies - all this is indispensably necessary. Even in using the word doublethink it is necessary to exercise doublethink. For by using the word one admits that one is tampering with reality; by a fresh act of doublethink one erases this knowledge; and so on indefinitely, with the lie always one leap ahead of the truth.

“I’m not trying to sound callous”

Just comes naturally then, I guess.

If you allow your child to die because of your neglect, I hope you go straight to jail, religion or no religion.

Once they’re out of the womb, these people really don’t about kids at all. Pro-life my fucking ass.

ironically, it is religious nuts like this who confirm Darwin was correct.

Unfortunately, their children are the sacrificial lambs in their dogma. But at least it continues the right wing psalm of Ideology Uber Alles.

It can be an art.

“I can’t believe that!” said Alice.
“Can’t you?” the Queen said in a pitying tone. “Try again: draw a long breath, and shut your eyes.”
Alice laughed. “There’s no use trying,” she said: “one can’t believe impossible things.”
“I daresay you haven’t had much practice,” said the Queen. “When I was your age, I always did it for half-an-hour a day. Why, sometimes I’ve believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast.”

Republican material. ///
