Fear and Loathing in Wingnuttia
Earlier this week, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev was found guilty on all counts for his participation in the Boston Marathon Bombing, and subsequent acts, that left 5 people dead and maimed hundreds.
As many of you know - I was extremely active in both the news coverage of the bombings, and subsequently in monitoring the #freejahar movement (although it never amounted to a movement.)
I, J3ster, and some movement Anons were the first to discover the #freejahar sentiment, which we came by through investigating Tsaernaev friend Troy Crossley, who’s twitter account is the genesis of the hashtag #freejahar. We mainly monitored the movement, but at times we had to step in an do more - such as when a 16 year old North Carolina resident bought the website : freejahar.com. We discovered who she was through Whois, and in an effort to keep her (a minor child) out of danger in the days out of the attack, and give her a chance at a future, offered to keep her name and information secret as long as she handed control of freejahar.com to me, and never engaged in supporting a terrorist again.
I have had possession of freejahar.com ever since, which is why it has not been able to be a focal point for their silly movement.
On Tuesday, I monitored the hashtag again, adding pro-Jahar tweeters to the dox list we maintain (which to this point has not been made public due to the age of many of its proponents) when I came across a rightwing radio host attempting to exploit the Bombings for partisan ends:
#LiberalLogic Killer cop in South Carolina? Straight to execution. Dzokhar #Tsarnaev? He’s cute & was manipulated by his brother #FreeJahar

To which I replied:
@allanbourdius what? this isnt about liberals or conservatives, that ridiculous behaviour is pathetic
— palmerkiss (@palmerkiss) April 8, 2015
only to receive a double down:
Oh? You mean there isn’t a liberal bias against police and for Tsarnaev? Who knew? @palmerkiss pic.twitter.com/iJ0nZQuUZG

You can read all this at a Storify board he kindly created here : storify.com (at time of print it had 57 views!)
I asked him to provide evidence of any liberals supporting #freejahar, but he demurred. I asked him to comment on the fact that some prominent conservatives have in fact claimed the bombings were not carried out by the Tsaernaev’s, such as Glenn Beck and Alex jones, but he also demurred.
As of print time his only comments have been of the ‘desperate ego trolling’ variety.
The problem of course is not one single prominent liberal supported #freejahar. Furthermore, Djhokhar was tried and convicted by a jury of his peers in the unapologetic yet overwhelmingly liberal state of Massachusetts.
This however did not stop other Rightwing ‘radio hosts’ (in quotes because honestly - having five listeners in tinfoil hats does not REALLY make you a radio host) from joining in:
@allanbourdius She’s baaack… ?@palmerkiss @winsomebulldog

Allan Bourdius is a radio host at vigilantliberty radio,
the kind of place where gay people engage in jihads, and it’s ok for police officers to shoot unarmed black men.
Links to Alex jones Boston Bombing Trutherisms
Links to Glenn Beck claiming the Saudi’s did it
Nothing else really needs to be added to this - some two bit wanna be radio hosts exploiting a mass murder for their own political ends pretty much will guarantee they never get a job beyond being an unpaid chirpinghead at (lulz) VIGILANT LIBERTY RADIO.
I’m sorry, it was really hard to be serious about this when this group of characters so pathetic that even their trolling backfires so spectacularly, that I am positive you can feel my giggles in real time.
And that is entirely the point. :)
