He is not the first. See Serpico, the real guy not the movie.

en.wikipedia.org
Francesco Vincent “Frank” Serpico (born April 14, 1936) is a retired American New York City Police Department (NYPD) officer who is famous for blowing the whistle on police corruption in the late 1960s and early 1970s, an act that prompted Mayor John V. Lindsay to appoint the landmark Knapp Commission to investigate the NYPD.[2] Much of Serpico’s fame came after the release of the 1973 film Serpico, which starred Al Pacino in the title role, for which Pacino was nominated for an Oscar.

Well there you go Mr. and Mrs. and Ms. clueless. That’s why people run from the cops. Notice the usage of “jacking up.” Nice to know some things never change. That’s normal and standard procedure, and when you get a dose of it, you take the fuck off when they come around. Period.

I hope Officer Wood does not suffer Frank Serpico’s fate.

One person who cares makes the other 10 who don’t look bad.

So, who’s willing to bet he’s either suddenly found “mentally unstable” like Adrian Schoolcraft… or found in an alley dead?

(no need to greet me for my first post - I know several folks here know my name and, uh, “face”)

The DOJ’s Civil Rights Division is already on it:

We now have our generation’s Serpico. We’ve been waiting a long time. This retired officer is incredibly brave to do this.

There is a very large group of shields very nervous right now. And some terrified officials.

I guess we should wait until we get a confirmation that this guys credentials are legit, and this isn’t some bullshit hoax.

But if its all real than it could be big. Frank Serpico’s work didn’t completely rid the NYPD of all the bribery, murder for hire, and gratuitous cruelty to suspects, but it did help jumpstart a movement that made that its end goal.
