The anti Obama, pro confederacy wingnut Andy Hallinan, who runs “Florida Gun Supply” recently made a video where among other things, he called opposition to the confederate flag “extreme political correctness.”

Never mind that for the Confederacy, the Civil War, really was about keeping black people in bondage, not states rights. How’s that for “standing up for liberty?” How’s that for “defending freedom?” And how can this guy be a patriot when he defends people who fought to get out of the union because they didn’t like the prospect of having to treat black people as human beings? Even if Hallinan is ignorant, about the real reasons for secession, or why many southern states started flying the confederate flag again, he’s hardly acting like a patriot, when he defends a literal flag of treason.

Also never mind that Cops really do disproportionately shoot innocent unarmed black men. Its not just because of Obama that black people are complaining about such things, and contrary to what Hallinan seems to think, cops killing innocent black men, because they happen to be black, and in the wrong place at the wrong time, is a serious problem. Oh but off course he’s not a racist, liberals are the “real racists.” Racism wouldn’t be a problem in America today if not for that racist Obama who keeps dividing Americans! Give me a break.

Also where have any of the people who oppose the Confederate flag flying over any of our state houses, demanded the removal of the American flag? I don’t remember anyone calling for the removal of the “Stars and Bars” and the “Stars and Stripes.” That doesn’t seem to be a mainstream position among liberals.

Plus how many people in the Obama administration have called the Christian cross “a symbol of intolerance and hatred” or said it was “anti gay?” None that I’m aware of. Not only the religious right, but Christians in general would be upset if Obama had said anything like that. It also would make no sense for Obama to call the most universally recognized symbol of the Christian faith “a symbol of intolerance and hatred” of any kind, since contrary to conspiracy theorists, the president is a Christian. He also has done no more to praise Islam than Bush had when he was president before him. The Obama administration is hardly pro Islam and anti Christianity.

Oddly enough the Obama administration has done far more to fight genuine “Islamic extremism” than the bigoted anti Muslim “counter Jihad” has ever done, despite what paranoid anti Obama wingnuts like Hallinan may believe.

And that’s not all, not only does Hallinan spout a bunch of long debunked anti Muslim tropes, he specifically comes out near the end of the video and says that he’s going to make his gun shop a “Muslim free zone” to protect the safety of his customers. I guess it will “protect the safety” of his customers in much the same way that segregation “protected the safety” of white women.

At this point I would suggest to any of his friends, if he has any, that they warn him about our anti discrimination laws, and how he could be sued into oblivion if he implements such a backwards policy. I’m guessing someone did tell him, because just today he went on twitter and basically claimed he never said that he would discriminate based on religion. This is what Hallinan tweeted in response to Oliver Darcy after he wrote another piece for The Blaze about his desire for his gun shop to be a “Muslim Free Zone.”

So saying your shop will be a “Muslim free zone” doesn’t mean you won’t sell to Muslims or use your firing range? Than how could it possibly be a “Muslim free zone,” if Muslims are allowed to enter it? Once there is a Muslim there, its no longer a “Muslim free zone.”

He also went on CNN and basically said that he was just being proactive and was trying to start a conversation about the dangers of “political correctness,” and won’t actually ban all Muslims, just the ones he thinks are dangerous. In the CNN interview, unlike in the video he made earlier, Hallinan even came out and said that he knew that refusing to sell to people based on their religion was illegal.

I’m guessing that Christianity is an all American religion of peace, and Islam is a blood thirsty religion of terrorism and war, and Muslims can’t be trusted until you learn that you could be facing a lawsuit for violating their civil rights that you are all but guaranteed to lose.

So much for this “patriot’s” willingness to “defend his freedom and liberty.”
