Strapping a heavy handgun to the drone is likely only the beginning. Most of the parts of a handgun are user interface related and could be shed in favor of a more efficient design. Very troublesome.

Ah yes, excellent point. A point I left out on purpose. Not that I object to your comment at all!
Maybe I’m naive to withhold that commentary, but I figure well nobody gets it from me. ‘Tis the dilemma with dual/multi/meta use tech like drones. Another rule to add at the shooting ranges-NO DRONES. Simple mechanical engineering is going to make some really deadly drones, the likes of ISIS will get there. Imagine the next standoff with terrorists including a drone fight. Yeesh. I don’t even want to talk about helpful engineering on this one. I’ll sleep better.

Dumb question, how is the trigger pulled?

Drones like RC planes have little light actuators to control the craft. Any of those could be suited to the job. Middle school mechanical engineering.

Probably a solenoid. It would be pretty easy to build, but you shouldn’t build things just because you can.

Honestly, it is this behavior by “conservatives” that will bring the government regulations about which they are so paranoid.

The failure to recognize that restrictive laws, in this country, are usually a response to bad behavior. We are not known for being a proactive people.
