I’m a little discouraged by how easily so many close to me are buying into the fears, many straight out irrational, France has become an excuse to believe the the lies. Is anybody connecting election year and terror attack for hyperbole?

Mayor of Santa Fe, NM:

Here in Santa Fe, a city of immigrants, in New Mexico, a state of immigrants, and in America, a nation of immigrants, all of whom came here originally seeking refuge and liberty, it has been heartbreaking to watch governor after governor refuse to come to the aid of a world in crisis.

[…]

In the face of terror it is easy to forget who we are. I don’t think New Mexicans or Americans want to go down that road, and our leaders should stand up and call on the better angels of our human nature to help make sure we never do.

RTWT. Yes, he’s a Democrat.

You might want to send some of them to read the article nines09 references in his most recent Page. Much of what it says is what many have been trying to get the masses to listen to, as you’ll see from my comment highlighting those portions.

Everyone pulling the strings has an agenda that involves politics & religion to a greater or lesser extent, the ratio depending on who they are and what their ultimate goal is. The thing they all seem to have in common is a sociopathic (or damned near it) level of greed/self-interest and unshakable belief that they’re in the right and therefore deserving of the end (with little or no regard for the morality of the means).

Senator Pat Toomey of PA, sadly, joins the xenophobes:
U.S. Sen. Pat Toomey, R-Pa., said in a statement that no refugees should be allowed into the United States “until we are able to determine with full confidence that there are no security risks among them. The safety of our people must come first.”

Governor Tom Wolf supports resettling refugees:
