This’ll help her cause.

The complaint also accused Bondi of accepting a campaign money from a tax-exempt charity, the Trump Foundation, that is prohibited from making political contributions under the federal tax code.

Bondi’s political committee, called Justice for All, deposited the $25,000 check in September 2013, but returned it in March after discovering that it came from a tax-exempt charity that is prohibited from making political donations.

However, the Trump Foundation did not accept it, according to Nancy Watkins, a Tampa accountant and treasurer of Bondi’s committee.
….
Watkins (her PAC treasurer) said the Trump Foundation voided the original check that she returned, and that made it worthless, which is why the refund does not appear as a transaction on the committee’s finance reports.

“It’s not a reportable transaction,” Watkins said.

Watkins emphasized that it’s not a violation of the tax laws to accept a disputed check from a charity, and said the state ethics and elections commissions have no jurisdiction over actions by charitable organizations governed by federal tax laws.

So she got it, deposited it (it apparently cleared the bank as a deposit) but then returned it…oh but it was voided and returned? What…after she cashed it?

Some accountant she has there.

Trump poisons everyone he touches. She should go down hard.

Accepting a campaign donation from someone you are investigating is a huge no-no.

I don’t think these charges against Bondi will go anywhere or cause her to lose her job because GOP/TPers control the state government and will do everything in their power to shield her from prosecution. I live in GA where the government is controlled by GOP/TPers, and any charges against them are never pursued. Nathan Deal and his partner sold their auto salvage company to Copart. Copart owes the state about $70 million in back taxes. When the story came out in 2013, Deal said he wouldn’t get involved in telling the state department of revenue how to do its job. The story came up again in 2014 when Deal was running for reelection. At that time, he said he’d investigate the matter by forming a special investigatory unit. He was reelected, and I’ve read nothing about the special unit and nothing about Copart paying the millions it owes. Deal and his former business partner receive thousands from Copart each month in addition to the millions they received in the original agreement. Deal went from being one of the poorest members of Congress to being a multi-millionaire less than four years after leaving Congress. There are members of the state legislature and citizens who know that Deal is a corrupt b*st*rd who is using his position to enrich himself and his cronies, but I’m not holding my breathe waiting on them to act.
