What Happened to Our FBI?
The news has been a whipsaw. The GOP hated Comey and the FBI and Loretta Lynch because HRC was not charged. Now Comey has broken the hell out of the 60 days before an election rule. Last Friday and even perhaps more egregiously today with an FOIA figleaf, maybe.
Most of us recall the dark day an FBI sniper took the 5th Amendment. Ruby Ridge, where a white separatist family was arguably entrapped by an FBI informant trying to get out of charges. So many things went wrong there. False reports of shots fired at a helicopter resulted in rules of engagement that essentially were illegal themselves.
The FBI has falsely accused a number of people over the years. No career can survive such an incident, and it can ruin a marriage, tempt a person to harm themselves from depression or desperation. No agency can ever be perfect, what’s worthy of watching is how they react to these events. CYA? Stonewall? Or accept and progress?
Who remembers Richard Jewell? Saved lives at the Atlanta Olympics, was wrongly accused of being the bomber. His life was destroyed.
Our collective memory is challenged by the sheer number of incidents. How about Brandon Mayfield. This poor guy just got caught up in a fingerprint misread. Should have been routinely set aside. But once investigators latch on to a person, it practically takes divine interention to get them to let go, especially if no one else looks good for the crime.
Before his arrest, Spanish authorities informed the FBI in a letter from April 13, that they reviewed the fingerprint on the bag as a negative match of Mayfield’s fingerprint,[4] though this letter was not communicated to Mayfield’s attorneys. On May 19 the Spanish authorities announced that the fingerprints actually belonged to an Algerian national, Ouhnane Daoud; Brandon Mayfield was released from prison when the international press broke the story the next day — May 20, 2004.[3] A gag order remained in force for the next few days. By May 25, the case was dismissed by the judge, who ordered the return of seized evidence and unsealing of documents pertaining to his arrest.
Now I realize much of this is worn out road. Pundits and conspiracy fans have run deep ruts here. I bring this up because past is prologue. These are links to Pages I have published in the past.

So given the events of the last week, how will the FBI respond? Watch and learn. I think you will agree with me. Comey must resign or be fired. Today if possible
