Coal Fired Sunbury Pa Generation Plant Implosion Videos UPDATE
The new gas fired plant in front of the old coal fired plant. This will give you an idea of how vast this was/is. The photos are right before the east side stacks came down. Do an over head and look at the acreage.
Millions of pounds of coal were in that “yard”.
When I first moved here it was operating at just about full capacity. There are two fly ash ponds close by, one not 1/2 mile from my house. It was also used as so called “filter” for Marcellus Shale “effluents”. I watched the Hazmat trucks roll in.
Huge amounts of water in and out. You could sign in at the guard gate and fish off the piers. There was/is a eel dam somewhere in there.
Place was originally a PP&L facility, but they started stepping away from coal a number of years ago. The last 20 years it only operated at below half capacity if not less.

RR tracks were torn up years ago, trestle taken down from Sunbury.

Built a new natural gas plant right in front of it. Ran a designated feed to it.
