“Rode down the highway
Broke the limit, we hit the town”

Riders on the storm
Into this house, we’re born
Into this world, we’re thrown
Like a dog without a bone
An actor out on loan
Riders on the storm

Try playing around with HDR for photos like this; the detail in the darker areas is getting lost, and using ALL the pixel information will make a real difference I think.

If you’ve got an iPhone, you can turn on the HDR setting on the camera now, or even use an app to capture one.

Used to be we had to use specialized software, or try to laboriously line up the layers and then merge in Photoshop. Gah! Weird light & fringing, and surreal effects with supersaturated colors happened a LOT.

I don’t use phones (shudder) or HDR for photos. I realize that’s what a lot of folks prefer these days but I’m a bit of a Fudd like that 😉 At full resolution (there is a lot of compression needed for uploading here) on my screen at home there is considerably more detail in the shadows. It’s probably my learning to print in the 80’s showing …

These were using a Leica M type 240 and a Nokton 50mm f/1.5 wide open at ISO200 & between 1/60 & 1/3000 depending on the image, DNG, post-processed in ART 1.20.2.
