Dem. Ill. governor defends Palin’s experience
CHICAGO - Governor Rod Blagojevich backs Illinois’ Barack Obama, but he says fellow Democrats shouldn’t discount GOP vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin’s experience as Alaska governor.
Blagojevich says the executive job of governor is like the presidency because governors have to make decisions. He says lawmakers do different things like “debate and … pass their bills back and forth.”
Obama, the Democratic nominee for president, was an Illinois state senator before being elected to the U.S. Senate.
Blagojevich made his comments Thursday on WGN-AM’s “Spike O’Dell Show.”
