Funny - and Captain Kirk is in it! Well, you know what I mean (died in the wool Trekkie.)

Heh. I thought so. It’s precisely what anyone who has a concealed carry permit should be willing to do if they have to pull their weapon.

Watching Boston Legal is like going to the Church of Conservatives are Stupid Idiots and listening to a sermon. This wasn’t funny to me. It showed a conservative gun owner vindictively shooting somebody three times with glee. “In the knee, in the right foot, in the left foot.” The shooter thought it was funny. How is this a pro gun clip?

To me, it showed a conservative gun owner incapacitating (without killing) his assailant in a manner that anyone who has a concealed carry permit should be willing to act in, if they actually draw their weapon. Not only did he incapacitate the criminal non-lethally, but in such a way as to draw no attempted murder charges against him (shooting him in the legs instead of through the heart). I was always taught that if you draw your gun, you’d better be willing to throw down, or it will be taken from you, along with your life.
Now, I do know if I had a gun in my face, and I managed to get the drop on my assailant and turn the tables, I would feel a good bit of satisfaction in knowing that I had stopped (and punished) the criminal. A certain bit of righteous glee can and should be expected, along with the sick-to-your-stomach feeling of actually having to use your weapon on somone.
I do agree with you, however, that Boston Legal is a garbage show 99.9% of the time. Precisely why I was surprised at this coming from that show. I don’t watch it; I just thought this particular clip was amusing.
