I’ve never believed that innovation happens because Magic Free Market Whizdom, but I’m not going to believe instead that innovation happens because Magic Government Whizdom. IMHO an innovation-based economy should have niches for all levels of exploratory risk-taking, from the lone inventor to the Apollo Project. Afaik Mazzucatto is hyping a false dichotomy.
