A loss for 'We the people'

It’s very difficult to report on legal findings, other than the bare bones law, the vote, the majority opinion, the minority opinion. Much depends on the initial briefs filed, which precedents are cited, and how well the attorney answers questions posed by the justices, and so on.

Many people act like judges rule simply as a reflection of their political beliefs. This is certainly the case when Senators add their input into the judiciary. However, I think the judges should get a little bit of credit for doing their jobs properly.

If the decision works out poorly, the Arizona legislature will have to rewrite the law. This is an ongoing process in our entire legal system.
