Bull. Libya has a history of being a cohesive unit since the its time as a vilayet under the Ottomans, starting in 1511. Everything you see now is a result of bitterness from favoritism from under Qaddafi’s rule, or anger from actions during the war. This is somewhere in the region of things to expect after a Civil War. Ever hear of the Westmoreland dispute after our own revolution?

And in regards to Syria, it’s a completely different animal. Syria’s civil war resembles Lebanon’s from 1975 to 1990. No real good side, just a bloody slog. Right now a 5-sided war. Pro-Assad v. Anti-Assad v. Takfiris v. Christians v. Kurds. These groups are all shooting each other. There is no good solution for Syria, unless we decide to take the poison pill, find some allies, and outright occupy the place. That is all I can think of. The fact that Assad has so brutally attempted to hold to power shows that he and his cronies are no longer fit to rule.
