The petro-chemical industry, or even larger the whole chemical+energy sectors of the economy, are the sources of major disasters continually. Some years are worse than others.

We forget that there are inherent dangers to many of the substances we use on a daily basis.

This danger is the basis on why the mountain of regulations have been created from laws passed, sometimes passed after some major disaster forces the politicians to do something.
