I remain uneasy about the J&J vaccine; they advertise the problem as 15 severe adverse reactions out of about 8 million vaccinations (original report 6 out of 7 million) but that isn’t the correct comparison, given the demographics of those who suffered this reaction. All were women and 13 were less than age 50 — and so you have to compare this to the total number of women in that age range who received the vaccine. It is misleading to continue to describe it as x out of total vaccinations; it significantly understates the risk of blood clots among younger women.

That’s … odd. I wonder if they were on oral contraceptives or hormone replacement for menopause? That can increase clotting potential in women. It would be instructive to know if they were able to factor that out.
