No…kind of rushed it. However, if lack of hate were a condition for membership in a religious group, most religions would be sparsely membered….

Don’t get me wrong, he shouldn’t be allowed to be called Bishop, celebrate mass, whatever. But ex-communication was a personal edict to deny HIM the relationship all Catholics seek with God—communion and its soul saving aspects. I don’t know that the Pope was seeking to support his hate as much as give him a vehicle for asking for forgiveness. I could be wrong as I am not that learned in this area.

The man is a man, and God will judge him accordingly.
