Lefties assume that the great conversion at LGF is because of the superiority of leftist thought instead of the fact that lefties were batshit insane under the Bush years. Michael Moore and Dan Rather were lying douchebags. 9-11 conspiracies and antisemitism were rife on Dkos and other lefty sites. Rove was to the lefties what Acorn is to conservatives today. The Palestenians are still genocidal maniacs. Just because the right went nuts doesn’t really excuse what the left was doing under the Bush regime. Crazy is as crazy does.

I have no problem condemning those excesses of the left and always have. I’ve said repeatedly the left didnt really get a grip til post 2004.

This doesn’t mean I can’t also have had good and rational concerns about the Bush admin, which i did. Many of those same issues bug me about the Obama admin too, btw.

Crazy is as crazy does indeed, and the batshit crazy on the right now IS dfferent than the left under Bush because it’s being mainstreamed more. This doesn’t say anything intrinsic about the ‘nature’ of those on the left or the right, good or bad, just a meta comment on what has actually happened.

Also, i really didnt expect the GOP to collapse as completely as it has. I thought they’d be much faster to get a grip and regroup than the left under Bush — because they’ve always been so much better at messaging until recently, and they had the example of the excesses of the left to learn from there.
They learned the wrong message so far, apparently.
