7 Reasons North Carolina’s ‘Establishment GOP’ Candidate Is More Extreme Than You Think

Exactly. This guy is the proverbial wolf in sheep’s clothing if you’re not paying attention, and many in NC do not.

Like I said, he “cleans up nicely” but only if you remain a sheeple. Some people have the wrong-headed idea that a “respectable” and superficial appearance means those people are “better” than they are—an idea planted firmly in the south too long ago, as our “betters”, no doubt brought here by the many English land grant owners, who copied the “lord of the manor” model in establishing slave plantations. After all, they wouldn’t be where they are if they weren’t, amirite? The idea that former poor white sharecroppers’ (the American equivalent that came closest to serfdom) descendants would wind up calling themselves “rebels” and fly the confederate flag, even today, was always mystifying to me. That mindset is the same one that resists unionization as well, even as they moved from that to mill work and other industries in the last century.
