re: #91 William Lewis

I’m getting a Rossi 92 ( a Winchester 92 clone - an old cowboy style lever action) with a nice 24” octagon barrel in .357 magnum with the intent to hunt whitetail deer with. In a rifle, it has similar capability to the classic .30-30 and is cheaper to reload for. That I can share ammo with my revolver is simply an extra plus. I hope to finish paying for it on Friday.

But that’s not the same as handgun hunting which maybe what you’re referring to?

That is indeed what I’m referring to; my boar-hunting ex claimed he needed the stopping power of the .357 because his aim wasn’t good enough to be shooting from a distance. (he could have been lying. maybe it was because he just loves Dirty Harry movies.)
