Except plenty of well-connected Russians already live in that building. How would the Secret Service know who was in the actual meeting if DJT wasn’t present? Can’t you see Trump’s mob lawyers talking about this with the Trump family and saying, “hey, the Secret Service was there, let’s pin this on them!”? Not realizing of course that for the USSS to be there, then DJT had to be there.
