I’m sure he sat on something at some time, but did the ancient Israelites actually have a tradition of a chair of ruling?
Proverbs refers to a king sitting on ‘kisay din’, ‘seat of justice’. I don’t know if they’d have made a dramatic special one for the king, or if it’s just that when you’re sitting as judge, you get to sit down and everyone else stands up.
