The CEO was publicly asked by the President to resign. While it may not fall under the exact definition of “fired”, the moment Obama said it, the guy was out of a job, so it amounts to the same thing.
I suppose the CEO could have refused and gotten into a public pissing match with The President of the United States. I’m sure that would have gone well for him. When the AIG executives caused embarrasment to the Admin., Obama’s grubby little minions descended on their homes. What CEO in the country would want to have to deal with that kind of intimidation? Not to mention the beating the man and his Co. would have faced from the bubbleheaded boobs in the media to whom immediate obeisance to Obama is the prime directive.
