Anyway, one thing to remember is that we are the sum of our past. Maybe we are more than only our past, but what we do (and what has been done to us) doesn’t go away; how we play the cards we are dealt is important.

Genetic tests are starting to be useful in indicating predisposition to these kind of problems, though it is obvious there is much more to be learned.
