People living close to Donald Trump’s golf course in Aberdeenshire suffered from “malign, egotistical bullying”, according to the director of cult film Local Hero.

Mr Forsyth, writing in the Guardian, described the film, which recorded Mr Trump’s neighbours losing their water supply and having earth mounds built outside their homes, as a “depiction of human survival and dignity amidst murky doings akin to seventies Romania”.
