Recently I came across another conservative opinion that at least supported medical marijuana.

Pain can be a hell of a convincer. After my last pacemaker replacement the docs prescribed a painkiller and restarted my bloodthinning medication. I think the blood thinning started just a little too soon, I had a bruise from just below my ribs to my waist; and from my navel all the way around to the small of my back. The painkiller didn’t do a damn thing except make me sleepy.

I slept sitting up in an unpadded chair - I couldn’t lie down or sit back up without aching to high heaven and getting out of a recliner hurt too much. I did this for nine nights while waiting for a doctor’s appointment so he could examine me and prescribe a different painkiller.

I hurt so bad that I told him that if it was going to hurt like this, then when this pacemaker battery ran down, I’d just take my chances. And I was serious.
