defending my kid, i half expected to be sacrificing some forearm in order to grab the nape (once you have a medium-sized or smaller dog by the back of the neck, it’s game over, human wins…that was my only goal). adrenaline is a weird thing.

i managed to get the right arm out of the way in time and snag the nape with my left hand.

when i subsequently defended a friend, i went with the same plan and it worked the same way.

That adrenal boost is a huge help, especially when coupled with clear thought and a plan.

BTW, I have had to kick a dog out of mid air with a crescent kick. It wasn’t a large dog, or I might be missing a leg.
