When they get off track each breed has a unique method of getting back on, some will circle in wider and wider circles and others will haphazardly set off in different directions and return. When they find sombody dead it takes an emotional toll on them, she would intentionally take them out the next day on a staged search that would have a happy ending.

I see one of my dachshund doing the circling thing when she’s trying to find her ball outside. Once she finds where it landed and rolled she’ll strike out on that path to find it.
