Do you recall the post (forgot who) back when this first came up, as only 2500 gun mfg’s even existed just a couple years earlier than the report? that sure made me a bit skeptical. That and Brady/HCI advocacy disease-Exaggeration and hyperbole. They count a 17 year old as a child in any gun accident for example.

I took a look at losses at jewelry manufacturers, and found a similar rate of lost valuable items. i.e. roughly about 6.4 (16,000 guns lost by 2500 mfg locations,) items lost or stolen per mfg per year. Jewelry manufacturers take extraordinary steps to prevent loss for obvious reasons. Now these numbers are anecdotal in the sense I spoke to some people I know that have jewelry shops. Some said more some said less. But certainly the same order of magnitude. But consider they use cameras and metal detectors and good habits.
