re: #49 Charles Johnson

The group that’s co-sponsoring this event with Breitbart is a truly whacked-out survivalist cult that thinks America is in imminent danger of being hit with an EMP attack. See the update above.

I was just checking out EMPact America a little while ago. They have a site called homelandthreats.com that appears to be specifically dedicated to the National Security Action Summit II event. Below is a screenshot of the first 25 backlinks to the Homeland Threats site retrieved via backlinkwatch.com. Quite a few familiar domains there—a not unexpected cross-section of wingnuts, racists, isalmophobes, survivalists, gold bugs, etc.

Oh, and that preparehub(.)org domain? It also belongs to EMPact. The registrant of record for both Homeland Threats & PrepareHub is a guy named Ross Howarth (never heard of him before, but according to his bio on the PrepareHub site it looks like he’s pretty active). The registrant of EMPact is the president of the organization, David Bellavia.

I wonder how much googling it would take to find the connections between Howarth & Bellavia and see who else it leads to… Anyway, some other day maybe—not in the mood to waste too much time on wingnuts tonight.
